Spanish Fort's 2010 Comprehensive Plan was created by citizens, City staff and elected officials of Spanish Fort and was intended to provide land use policy guidance as the City grows. The Plan is general in nature and does not specify the exact lot-level development pattern of future Spanish Fort. Instead, the Plan provides a future development framework that incorporates a mix of uses designed to allow flexibility to the City, property owners, and the development community.
Since the 2010 Comprehensive Plan's original development, the City has experienced rapid growth which has led to new developments, including park expansions, two new fire stations, and recreational facilities. Given these changes, the City is updating its 2010 Comprehensive Plan to guide future growth and development.
