The City of West Sacramento is currently working on improvements to the roadways in the Port Area. As part of these enhancements, the City aims to upgrade infrastructure to better support mobility for active transportation modes. The Southport to Harbor Roadway Project will rehabilitate the roadways, fill sidewalk gaps, and build bike lanes along this heavily trafficked route to enhance access and, most importantly, safety. The City is actively pursuing funding for the project through the California Active Transportation Program (ATP), which would help finance the construction of active transportation components.
